1946 Hudson 2 Door Sedan for sale
I am a big Hudson fan and currently have 4 cars ( 1 being a parts car and another being redone - 40 coupe). I would like to sell my 1946I am a big Hudson fan and currently have 4 cars ( 1 being a parts car and another being redone - 40 coupe). I would like to sell my 1947 2 door Sedan and want it to go to someone else loving Hudson's and not someone wanting a street rod. Don't mind engine, etc.. changes but hate changing the body style. This car only has 37,000 miles and I am the second owner. Have original engine ( running fingers up and down in cylinders do not feel any not groves or ridges ) literally in baskets but appears to all be there for the rebuild including transmission. I have owned the car for several years always intending to redo it but time does not always allow us to do what we want to do. It is in prime and the body has basically NO rest including floor pan. Very solid car and window roll up and down easily including the rear ones. Very " slight " damage to left front fender. Glass is excellent. Interior is all there and all structurally solid. Would need re done as well. Basically this is a very solid undamaged car that would make a great original car project and hopefully this is the type person wanting it. If interested lets talk I want a good home for it since I am not going to be able to refinish it. Asking price: $ 4,500.00 Thanks Ray

A couple of observations...what happened around the gas tank filler area of the rear fender? Also, what caused the extra holes in the drivers side of the hood? Hood contacting a too-tall battery? I've seen that happen.

I cannot really answer your question. The current condition of the car is the way I bought it so really cannot say. This is why I am selling it as it has sat too long awaiting me to finish it. I just now see what you are talking about the hole in the hood. Just an illusion I guess as there is NO hole in the hood. The hood is very straight and solid as is the entire car with the exception of the slight damage to driver side front fender. Good solid car. Look at the front view and you can see that there is not a hole in the hood. I completed a 40 coupe and have another 40 coupe under build as well as a 50 Study truck - all under some level of construction so enough is enough. Finally realized I am not superman and cannot do everything. I am attempting to attach a pic of the front view for you to see. I guess that hole you reference is where the Hudson symball goes. See grill pic regardless that was the way it is made. Thanks Ray0

What do you think of the car? It is a very solid rust free basically car. If there is any rust I have not seen it0

It's bondo I guess. It was there when I got the car and I have never really looked at it thoroughly. Why is is there I do not know the history as to why. Car is very solid with no rust that I am aware of. The way you see it is the way it is - very good condition.0

What i am not understanding is that if someone is wanting a car to build they pass this over,, It is complete. low miles, two owner and rock solid. just saying.. reasonable offer will be considered0

maybe the price is way too high considering all the work and money yet to spend. with it being so taken apart how many parts are missing from nuts,bolts ,clips to trim and everything in between. lots of guys prefer a project thats all together and complete those projects are easier to sell. just a guess.0

I think it's overpriced for a car that's is that condition. If it was a coupe there would be more interest. You can buy a running , driving collector car for that money0

The CCMR book on it is 3k-ish for that condition. I agree, with 2manyprojects. It can be a deterrent to some when it's in pieces. In fact, I think it's a bigger deterrent to millenials. They just don't have the patience to search for missing parts. X-ers are a little more willing, but not much more. It's a quickly changing market out there.0

I do think all the parts are here. Nuts and bolts ??? But need room in garage so reasonable offers are considered if anyone is interested.. I had no idea where to start the asking price so feed back is appreciated.. i agree young people today will not even appreciate the Hudson automobile and that is why I am trying to sell on this site. I really would like to see someone actually wanting a Hudson get this one. It is a good starter.

By the way guys I have a 1940 Coupe completed and it is our show car for the past 20 years. We have won hundreds of trophy's over the years. A driver not a trailer queen. I have another 40 in process to have his and her 40 coupes. Next project is my 1950 Study truck so really like to sell the 46 Hudson to help out.0

This does look like a nice, solid car. At the moment, I have 7 Hudsons ranging from 1925 to 1954, and I'm not really in the market for another right now. I wish you luck with your sale, and I hope it finds a good home.0
