The engine with casting 165610 cwc looks to me like it's a 212ci 1946 or 1947 engine.0

Vic, do you see a date code? It will look like a little plate screwed to the block, but it is part of the casting. It will have a letter, followed be two or three numbers. The letter is the month. A=January, B=February, C=March, etc. The last number is the year. 1=41 or 51, 2=42 or 52. The numbers in between are the day of the month. So, G169 would be July 16, 1949 casting date. A38 would be January 3, 1948 casting date.0

I know there are date codes on the 40's and 50's engines. I assume there are on 30's engines too. 27-29 Hudsons actually had the date cast into them on the crankcase. The serial number on the engine would ID it as well.0
