Engine Identification

I have a 1947 super six 4 dr sedan with a later model 262 ci six engine. I am trying to figure out what year the engine was produced and whether it is the wide block engine.  these numbers are cast on the block below the distributor: E101, 304299, CWC, 4.  Ifound this # on the stamped vertically on the right front of the block next to the manifold: 145799,.

Help would be appreciated, Thank you

    May tenth, 1951 was casting date.   304299 covers 51-52and53.

    The serial number on the block would have been a 1952 car..car and engine serial numbers were same for production.  A 1952 262 engine is a wide block engine.  Info answering both questions appears on my website.
