Sadly, it appears to be true. Another giant of the H-E-T Club whose mind held an incredible amount of Hudson knowledge:
Augusto J. Souza, age 90 of West Chicago. Formerly of Villa Park. Passed away on March 13, 2021.
Augusto was an avid car buff and member of the Hudson Club. He excelled in rebuilding and racing Hudson Automobiles. Augusto was routinely called on by enthusiasts across the county to answer questions or provide rebuilt transmissions for their own projects. He was one of the last people to be able to rebuild the Hudson Hydromatic Transmission.
Augusto is the beloved husband of the late Barbara Jane. Loving father of Jan (John Matson) Souza, Tony (Vivian) Souza and the late Dan (Lisa) Souza. Beloved son of the late Rita and Augusto Souza. Proud grandfather of Augusto (Elizabeth) Souza, Jonathan (Amanda) Matson and Christopher Matson. Great grandfather of Elijah and Jade Souza. Dear brother of Rita Lind. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
[from another obituary:]
He excelled in rebuilding and racing Hudson Automobiles. Augusto was routinely called on by enthusiasts across the county to answer questions or provide rebuilt transmissions for their own projects. He was one of the last people to be able to rebuild the Hudson Hydromatic Transmission.

Sad news indeed :'( Gus was a wealth of information, and always was there to share his extensive Hudson knowledge.
