i need to reconfigure my original gas tank because of the dual exhaust system I'm installing. I brought it to a radiator/gas tank shop to have the outlet welded shut and a new filler added to the top and up into trunk.
just got a call from the shop that he doesn't want to close off filler outlet because he found sealer in parts of the tank and says welding could be toxic.
Does anyone have a good tank that has no sealer etc or know where I can get a replacement at a reasonable price? Is there possibly another car's tank that will fit the 24" width ?
Thanks in advance.

Take a look at Tank Inc.'s universal tanks especially the Blazer tank.
