Brake questions
Hi everybody! I have a '51 Pacemaker and a couple of questions about the brakes. When making an urgent stop, I hear a rhythmic clacking or clanging noise. The same thing happened to me years ago with the 50 Pacemaker I owned when I was in high school.
Has anybody else had this experience? I was wondering if it indicates that the mechanical brake system has been engaged.
On a related note, can anybody recommend a mechanic or garage in the St. Louis area that would be qualified to work on Hudson brakes? Thanks!

I wonder if the driveline has come loose from carrier bearing.0

I do Hudson work on the side but I’m near Lubbock, Texas. I agree with Courtesy Man, check your carrier bearing, drive line mounts and u-joints. Also before you take it all apart, find a gravel road and do an urgent stop, enough to skid the tires. Then check to see if all tires skid. That’ll help narrow down which corner might be giving trouble.0
