Hello all,
So I’ve noticed quite an oil leak on the driver side of my hornets 308. I believe it’s coming from the distributor . I guess the question I should asking is “Does the distributor have a seal of any assortment to the block ?”
thanks!

Yes, there is a gasket between the distributor and the block, pretty easy to make one.0

@onerare39 is this a “paper” seal?Or will rubber fiber work?0
-
Definitely not a little paper seal it’s got thickness to it. I used a cork/rubber gasket I cut to fit in it plus a touch of wheel bearing grease on the gasket to keep it sealed up.

@BigSky thanks a bunch I’ll look at it tomorrow !0

The original gasket is cork and a replacement can be be made from cork gasket materials. Also there are o rings that are the proper size. The part number and size have been listed on this site in the past0

@Glowplug I’ll have to do some snooping around thanks!0
