Why bother?  I've had my car 65 years,  and have had to tighten the spokes once, by shimming. If I have to do them in the same interval, I'll be around 125 years old.

excellent point car is as old as me and im still walking around just fine.... well OLDER THAN ME well 26 years older ... i hope you make it to 125 to retighten them . :)

  • I remember reading about this being done quite sometime ago it was a T model Ford powered by a 2.0 Cosworth they made the alloy spoke wheels that looked like wooden wheels to handle the power.
  • I think it is a great idea.  Some of these cars have wood spokes are too far gone to repair. This is a good option.
  • I just bought a 12 spoke inner for my 27 from someone who scored a storage unit full of early Hudson parts. The pic was a bit blurry and I thought someone had painted the spokes a weird color. Once I got it I realized that the spokes are aluminum. From what he told me afterwards, he had a box full of these aluminum spokes, so I'm guessing I have one of a complete set. Whoever buys or bought the remainder of this unit is going to have a surprise. I could not post a pic here but I did post pics on the club's Facebook page.
