Wanted driveshaft for 42 Commodore with overdrive

I am embarking on installing Overdrive in my 42 Commodore. 
To do this the book says I need a shorter driveshaft.     A little over 7 inches shorter. 

The NON-OD shaft is 58 7/16 inches (center to center of the u-joints) 
The OD shaft is 51 1/8 inches

Yeah, I could probably have mine cut, but if somebody has one lying around it just seems like it would be easier. 
I am in the Los Angeles area.
I am hoping that perhaps somebody nearby has one that they have no plans for.
