1937 Hudson 8 Deluxe interior question

Does any one know what the fabric type is?  It's not mohair like the Terraplanes had.  Also does anyone have patterns for the headliner?  Mine is super fragile and I'm afraid if I take it down it will tear.

The Acme Co. (in California, I think) makes headliners for StepDowns and maybe for pre-war cars.  You can install them yourself but it's tricky.  However, Acme does not sell direct, you have to work through their distributors or retailers.  I just tried to google them but it's not easy to find listings for cars by make and/or year.  Here is their e-mail address; you could just write them and ask if they make headliners for your car.  support@acmeauto.us

Here's a company in Mass. that either makes vintaqe headliners or is the local retailer for a company like Acme: https://www.automotiveinteriors.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=bowhl-pass-1954-c . I know nothing about them.  They don't seem to have a listing of applications by make / model, merely referring to cars before or after 1954.

Here's a seller that lists a headliner for a '37 Terraplane 4-door (they have other body styles), these should be identical to Hudsons.  https://www.newstalgiaparts.com/Catalog/ShortProduct?productvariantId=75949
I suspect that this headliner is manufactured by a company like Acme, then sold through authorized dealers such as this company.
  • I'll look into it.  Thanks Jon!
