Using Continental valve lifters in Hudson big 6

A few years back someone in the HET CLUB said that he worked on early Continental air plane engines  and said that the early  engines  valve lifters would work in the  big -6 hudson engines ?  

  does anyone in the club remember this one ?

    These would only work in the '56 engines with hydraulic lifters.
