Hello everyone, I have a 29 coupe very rough I am going to try to get going, I was wondering how I could convert from wood wheels to steel as mine are rotted and rusted beyond repair. Need a cheap way to get it rolling. Thanks

Hudson of Essex ? Either way you’ll need to change axels to change wheels. You’d be surprised what’s out there as far as asking for original wheels.0

It was common practice during the thirties and forties to convert to steel wheels with balloon tyres. Involves a spacer bolted to the hub, with studs for the new wheels.0

You can use studs or threaded holes.
If looking 29 Essex wheels, they have been designed to mound with bolts.
If you plan to use an other type of wheel, plan to locate all of them first.
