262 Transmission exchange
Hello Forum,
I have a 1949 Hudson coupe, 262 c.i. and 3 speed transmission with a cracked block. I bought a used 1953 262 c.i. but it has a Hydramatic transmission. I would like to install the '53 262 but use my 3 speed. Will the 3 speed setup bolt up to it?
Thanks for the feedback.

Yes it will0

Just swap over all of the appropriate manual transmission stuff.0

Yes. You will need to use the rear engine plate and starter that went with the stick shift trans, as well as a 51 and newer cylinder head.0

Will there be no issues with the crank and pilot bearing?

The pilot bearing is in the flywheel. When you put that on thr 53 engine you will be good to go.0
