Essex 4 carburettor

I'm told this is a carby to suit the later Essex 4s. It is complete except for the lid to the float chamber and the float and the needle. I'm assuming the lid to the float chamber is pretty much just a round disc but I'm not sure what the float and needle arrangement looks like or how it works. 
Any knowledge please?
