My title (and registration) show 3700 as empty curb weight for my 49 4-dr with the eight engine. Seems light to me for the size, but I can't find any #'s in the manual. Is this correct?
I seem to get asked at every turn.

Yes, that weight is about right. If you do a search for vehicles weights you will find it interesting that what we used to think of as 2 or 3-ton cars of the 40s and 50s usually weigh less than many of today's vehicles. The reason is that today's vehicles are packed with copper wiring for all of the electronic systems, not to mention the emissions and other accessories. Stepdowns are a lot of sheet metal and of course an engine and trans but there is an awful lot of empty space!0

A drive across the scales at any truck stop and for a couple of bucks you will know your exact weight. And have a receipt to prove it0
