And now for something completely different...

When your old truck just won't run right, and you're fed up with the old Holley...  Fired right up, runs good.

Carter WGD. From my Hornet before I installed the Twin-H.  The 'freshest' carburetor in my inventory.
  • Oh, gotcha. Nice. How's the mpg?

Just did it today... but it started and ran without any g-damned $#*#& around. And stayed running. So I call it a win. I'll see how it actually drives this week.
  • I’ll bet the evaporator is bad
  • Oops wrong post lol

The Holley needs to be gone through for sure, but the bulk of my carb experience is with Edelbrock/Carters.  And the WGD was on the shelf and said 'Put me in Coach'
  • Looking at the specs, the WGD was apparently sometimes placed on small block v8s. So theoretically, it should be fine as long as the jets are big enough. It may work pretty well.

What's nice, is that Edelbrock Performer jets fit in the WGDs. And I have a couple different sets of WGD metering rods... I think the 'sea-level' setup should be close (I'm at 6000'). But mostly I'm happy it didn't die randomly...
