The transmission is a 1951 Vintage Hydramatic built and installed in a 1951 Hudson. The engine number has too many digits ... the"7" does not belong in a 308 Serial number. The engine decoder sheet appears on my website ... thanks to Fred Pinder.

The number 7300031 is stamped in the usual vin location on the block. The Butler book appears to have it as a 1954 model 7D which began with 7269066 and up, but I was also curious about the 00031 digits and what they represent.
