Rear bearing 34-35 gearbox

Hello, on my 1935 Terraplane, the Welch plug in the gearbox rear bearing pops out. It appears properly “set” but I have had 2 consecutive plugs pop out after a few hundred miles.
I THOUGHT I had the correct diameter Welch plug.
Regards, Tom

I assume you mean the layshaft bushing housing? If you hammer the plug in too much the layshaft may be pushing it out. the plug should eb a tight fit to start with, and just hammered enough to spread it into the recess tightly.0
