Is the oil filter canister on a 54 Hudson painted red or orange?

    I say orange on the red 308 engine that year

    I fount that Kubota Orange is a good match for the Fram Orange.  You can find it at Tractor Supply Stores.

    I think Paul Schuster has the Fram decals for sale.

    I have a vintage 1955 "FRAM Oil Filter Cartridge Installation Manual."  There are a couple of photos in this manual of the by-pass type cartridge, as used on stepdown Hudsons, that show them with an orange body and a black cover exactly the same as the photo above provided by "onerare39."
