Charles Henry Davis 1927 Hudson
Hello, Just wondering if anyone has information or photos to share of Charles Henry Davis and his 1927 Hudson? Seems that he drove it around 350,000 miles promoting the National Highways - Good Roads Movement. At one point he covered the Hudson with #25 license plates from various US states and some territories. One photo attached.

Definitely not 1927 model. Most likely 1922 or '23

Thanks. Good info. I was hoping that maybe the club had published an article on this in the past. Or that maybe Hudson did some advertising around the achievement of 350,000 miles.

I do not doubt that this was done. Here in N.Z. many Hudson super sixes were used as Service Cars, with extended chassis and up to16 seats. Many of them did over a million miles, including one I restored in 1971.

I have Charles Henry Davis 1929 Hudson. It was a 29 Biddle-Smart Sport Phaeton. The rear section of the body was removed and had like a dog house installed to store his tools and equipment while traveling. He was called Mr. 25 and had it registered in all of the U.S. states with #25 plates attached. There have been several articles written about him.

Very cool. i didn’t know if any of his tour cars were still around. Would love to see some photos or any articles not already previously referenced.

There are photos of his car on my web site. The box on the back was removed and a crane was installed. It was used by Hamlins garage in Bass River on Cape Cod as a wrecker.
