1937 transmission issues
I have a 1937 Terraplane Cab Express. I drove it about a month ago and had no issues. Today I drove it and could not get the transmission to shift to second or third. First and reverse are fine. Any ideas I would love to hear them. Thus does not have the electric hand. Thanks.

It will be the detent lock slide on the left hand side of the transmission. With the clutch fully depressed the cut-out in the lock slide should allow the pin of the detent to move outwards when you change gear. check the condition of the taper pin holding the throwout levers (from the pedal) to the shaft, and also check the rubber inserts in the lever pads.

Here's a picture of what Geoff's talking about. There is a section in the shop manual under "transmission", which deals with the adjustment Geoff has described.
