1936 Terraplane parts list….

So far,

all I know that it needs is the headlight bezels, taillight assembly, hub caps and the carrot.

I will add to the list as soon as I drag it home and begin the process of giving it a new life.

Is the car a coupe,2dr or 4dr to start with the head light buckets have built in bezels if your buckets are empty you have the wrong head lights if you want to pm me your phone number I am sure I can help you with what you need .Tom.

  • Thanks for all the advice over the telephone Tom!

From what I learned, I’m pretty much going to need a set of complete headlights in order to get the components to put them right. Maybe I’ll get lucky and some hot rodder will swap these adapters for the originals he’s throwing over his shoulder for the sake of 12 volts..

The car has nine hubcaps. Which if any are correct for this 1936 model 61 tudor (not Brougham).

3 are Packard hubcaps which concerns me. Does the car have Packard rims?

also pictured is the license plate bracelet. It looks like it was made for the car but seems like a reproduction.

Generator: I am actually okay with a two brush generator because “a gentleman doesn’t go about motoring after dark” and I have become obsessive with keeping batteries topped up, especially prior to a cold start. I think I located the cutout tucked away on the inner cowl.

Going with three brushes might require extra thought, patience and effort on my part!

    Crows foot, and carrot,

taillight: need the entire assembly except for the plinth. As with the headlights I will buy the entire assembly if need be.

Engine bits: pretty sure I will need a cam gear and an engine gasket set and probably a set of piston rings.

  • Your wheels look like Hudson 16" to me. That license plate bracket looks just like the one on my '36.

  • Thanks, that’s a relief!

Do you know where to find the engine serial number cutoff for the newer cam gear?

1936 seems to be a transition year.

  • I finally got under it and found that the Electric Hand components are basically gone, except for the control module on the steering column, and some of the levers.

The smaller hubcap is the right one.

  • You mean the one mounted on the car that has only the Terraplane script?

  • the one on the car is right

Yes. Your wheel looks like a later one though as the '36's have artillery wheels with lots of holes.

  • Thanks, it’s Unfortunate information but at least they’re round and support the automobile.

On the bright side it is likely a later rim which is slightly wider and can support a wider tyre.
