Oil Pump Gear Big Six R & R

The new oil pump gear I bought a while ago has only one hole for a taper(?) pin. In shop manual is shows (barely I think) two holes for old pin to be driven out. On removing gear off old ;ump I see the pin on both sides of the shaft. On a 308. How have you dealt with this or do other gears have both opposing holes (usually one smaller than the other for taper pin). ? Gert

I had the same issue. Fit the gear to the oil pump, aligning the hole in the gear with one hole on the pump shaft. Use this fit to align a drill bit the pin diameter and drill through. Peen the ends. Wildrick and Maas sell these and can advise you if you contact them.
