This clip was part of a driving safety movie filmed in Los Angeles in the 1930's. Both the Dover and Ford versions are seen pulling out of a local post office and driving down the street. It's very brief (don't blink!). See if you can tell the Fords from the Dovers!

good eye Jon. The first two Essex Dovers then the Ford and following the Ford another Essex Dover.

    I enjoyed the film.

  • Very cool film, at 6:46 there is a 40-42 Hudson going through the intersection.

  • Great watch, thank you

Thanks for pointing out those rare Dover postal trucks! A nice catch. Note between 1:27 and 1:32 are former New York City rapid transit cars that were brought into Oakland, CA for the sole purpose of taking workers to the nearby shipyards during WWII where so many Liberty Ships were built. I also enjoyed watching between 3:36 and 4:45 a shot from the inside of one of the "Key System," interurban, electric railroad trains making its way over the Oakland Bay bridge lower deck to the end of the line terminal in San Francisco. Note all the sailors getting off to perhaps enjoy some "liberty" in the "city by the bay." The "Key System" interurban railroad was shut down in 1958.
