Engine lifting eyes
Has anyone used something like these to lift a Hudson engine? I found them on a model T website. I can’t find a weight rating, so I’d use two. They screw in to the spark plug holes and then attach to a load leveler and hoist. Looking for a safe way to get the straight eight out of my ‘36

I would not lift an 8 cylinder out by the spark plug threads!

Geoff, it seemed very risky but I’ve read on other sites that people have done that a lot. I don’t have an engine lift plate so I’m looking at other options.

Take out head bolts and put a plate with a hole, then put the head bolts back in (snug them down but don't have to torque down). Attach your lifting device to those plates. You don't want to ruin an 8 cyl head pulling the threads out of the spark plug holes.
