1928 Super six model s Coupe F engine, hole at bottom of No 1 cylinder bore

Having removed cylinder head from my F series super six engine, I find a small 4mm, 1/8 inch hole right at the bottom of the water jacket. Is this a common problem and is there any better way of fixing other than a resleeve? Help and advice would be welcome.
Many thanks in advance John

It depends on how oversize the bore is. If it is standard it indicates that the bore is extremely thin, corroded through from the water jacket side. Sleeving is the only solution really. It may be possible to go undersize, say 3-7/16", and use Dodge/Chrysler pistons, which would mean the block would not have to be bored out too much. If one is gone that far, the rest may not be far behind.
