Radio size question

I have a DB38 radio in my 39 Hudson six. I have a weather master that I want to install. But I am told it will not fit due to the radio. That I need and SA38 radio. My question is the SA38 radio seems to be like mine except it doesn't have the big speaker that hands under the radio "box" itself. I cant imagine the size of the box being any different if nothing else due to the tube size. Can anyone confirm this or disprove it?
