1946 I6 water pump reassembly
Hi Everyone,
After rebuilding my water pump I need to fill it with grease. Sounds easy, just pump it in via the grease fitting. Trouble is, how do I get it full and get rid of the air in the chamber? I pumped it "full" so it popped the top of the fitting. It didn't seem like a lot of grease, so I opened it up and stuck a screwdriver in the hole, and it popped the air bubble. I attempted to load it up manually, but I can't seem to get it to the bottom. Do I need to use a small hose and fill it that way then pump it up the rest of the way?
Thanks for any ideas.
