Twin H Price

I used to follow price trends pretty closely, but I haven't for a while now. I'm wanting to ask what is a going price for a Twin H set up these days? I have one, off of a '53 or'54, that I'm going to offer for sale shortly, but I haven't a clue of what to ask for it. I suppose that I can run it on eBay and let the market determine the price, but I hate to go about it completely blind. The one that I'll be offering is fairly complete with manifolds, air cleaners and throttle linkage. One of the carbs needs a choke assy and some other work, as well. The exhaust manifold has had a second outlet tapped into it, like they used to do to make "split" exhaust manifolds for increased power. Would any of you gentlemen care to suggest an approximate starting price to help me get started?

Thank you,

James Sheehan

    James-

It's hard to say and I have been out of the loop for a while. Around ten years ago, they seemed to be going for $450-$750, depending on condition and exactly what was included. Close to 20 years ago, I paid $1500 for a perfect NOS Twin-H intake and exhaust and mounting hardware (no carbs, cleaners, linkage, shields).

With un-obtainium parts, then they are even more worth what you are willing to accept and what the buyer is willing to pay. IMO, if you have good air cleaners and the manifolds are in good shape and the correct carbs and linkage, I think you are in the $1000-$1250 range. Keep in mind that it will still take around a $750 or so to re-furbish those parts to like new condition.
