Twin-H emblem

Not to long ago there was posted an emblem of a real hornet bug with twin-h carburetors strapped to its back with the words Hudson Hornet, Twin-H Power, etc around the edge. Of course at the moment I can't find the post.
I sent the design to the Moritz Embrodery Works, address below, for a price quote on 25, for now, of these as a 3½ inch circular sew-on patch.
Will let everybody know when I hear from them.

Quentin Roberts from the California Inland Chapter originally did that for the Western Regional last year. He had shirts made up ( I have two) and he also made a slick decal for those of us who ran on the California Speedway. I don't know if he is making anything else up as I haven't talked to him in a couple of weeks.0

Got the email - thanks for the name. If this proves out to be a feasable operation maybe Quentin can pick up on the results - or we can split the cost, whatever. Don't want to "steal" somebody elses work.

Ok, I got a quote on this as follows:
Quote
Emblems:3 1/2" round on black twill fabric background with white outer
border
Hudson Hornet
50 @ $2.93 each(minimum order)
Emblems:3 1/2" round 100% embroidered background with white outer
border
Hudson Hornet
50 @ $3.40 each(minimum order)
A minimum order of 50 @ $2.93 would be $146.50 - or $3.40 would be $170. To re-sell would be, probably $5 each to cover shipping, handling, etc.
I wouldn't do this without permiison from the original designer - I was curious to find out what it would cost to have some of these made up. I certainly, at the moment, couldn't fund the whole project by myself - to be frank, money is tight here. Simple fact - I go to Memphis on a very frayed shoe string.
That's it from here.

Alex,
I forwarded the thread to Quentin. He comes on here but not often. Let's see what he has to say as the last time I spoke he was working on some other ideas, maybe he would like a partner in crime.0 -
What about KGap or the Club store. I'd buy some from either one.0

Well the e-mail came back undeliverable and he is not returning phone calls for some reason. He is in marketing so the holidays may be beating him up.0

Hey Ron,
Sounds good to me - however, I still would like the original artist to know what we're thinking of doing.
Next problem - I'm running out of time here. I'll be headed for Memphis for my annual Memphis Holiday with Oldest Daughter trip in about a week.
So either we put all this on hold until sometime around the end of January or early in February - or I send you the info on who, what, where and let it flow from there.

Alex,
Seeing you have started the leg or chair work already I will let you continue with that part. Let me know when and the amount and I will get a check to you in the mail no problem. Thanks, Ron0 -

Alex,
Just got off the phone with Rob, another member of the CIC club, and he gave me your information. I had always wondered why Hudson never made any type of logo with the "Hornet" in mind. I started drawing differnt things out and hired a graphic designer to complete the drawings. The logo is TM'd and I have given Sam with the WTN permission to use it for the Step Down Corner and whatever else he see's fit to put it on. Frankly, I have no issue with anyone using the logo as long as it is for the clubs and not for profit.
My goal was to come up with something "cool" that the new generation of Hudsonites could identify with. I get a little tired of seeing t-shirts with rusty Hudsons sitting in front of deserted gas stations...that's not what our Hudson's should be doing.
Let me know what your plans are...I have all the logos in digital format with the correct colors etc and would be happy to share for the right reasons.

Quentin,
I bought a couple of those when we were at Janet and Press' house last month (October?) I put one on each side of the car on the rear vent wings, and when I went to a "cruise" last Friday, I got more comments on the stickers than my new paint job! If I had only known that before I spent the $ on paint.....

Hi Quentin,
Ok, here's where it stands at the moment - I sent off and got a quote (it's posted earlier in this thread). My problem, at the moment, is I'm just about out of time. I'm headed for Memphis in about 10 days - being in Memphis means I wouldn't be at my primary snail mail address until the end of January, early February - so with that in mind I sent Ron P an email with all the info, so there'd be another source.
I didn't want to get things moving without your knowledge and blessing. So we do one of two things - you contact Ron and let him know what you think. Or we let the supplier know that nothing will be done until after February - which I don't really want to do if we're going to get this moving.
With 3 of us, we could split the cost - top cost seems to be $170 for 50 patches - three ways, or about $56 and change each. I could handle that. However, we do need a stable address - I don't think ordering them and then having them sent to my home address where they sit for several weeks is really the way we want to go.
I've gotten one email from one wanting 3 if we do this, I'd like one myself, and there are several have posted here in this thread expressing interest. Hopefully we could at least make the initial investment back.
So there it stands at the moment.

Alex Burr

Alex,
If it's agreeable to everyone involved, I can take care of the order taking and shipping from my store. In addition to the bricks and mortar store, I have a simple website ( www.royermusic.com ) with paypal and credit card capabilities, and have time in between piano customers to ship out the patches.
What do you guys think?

Matt - I think you are a life saver. How about I send you the original quote with all the info you'll need - who to contact, etc. Drop me an email and we'll see what we need to do, etc.

Did you realize that this thread was almost 7 years ago? I'm pretty sure they sold out!0 -
Yes I did, but wondered if more were made or if I could make my own up?0

Check with Paul Schuster on this site. He makes excellent quality decals and stickers.0

Wonder if Doug got the rights when he bought K-gap?0

Was this copyrighted?0

From what I've heard in San Mateo, Doug got KGap too! And I hope it's true! Michel0
