Carb Reinstall
As the day approaches (hopefully Saturday) to reinstall the rebuilt carb, I have two more questions regarding the 4 up 4 down gaskets.
I have used a wire brush on a drill to clean the manifold (with the hole plugged) then used a shop vac to suck the dust as well as a tack cloth. I also used the brush on the heat shield after a good soaking in carb cleaner.
1. Do I need to use a little Indian Head Gasket goo on all the matting surfaces?
2. Should I use "Chrome In a Can" to dress the heat shield or any other "paint" to hide some of the 56 years of pitting? It look OK, just used. I do have time this week to get a "new one" if you tell me which Hudson vendor sell "new" ones.
