Help me with my new hudson
Just purchased a 57 hudson super hollywood hornet, Im new to amc restoration but the car is such a beauty I couldnt resist. I dont know how to tell what motor it is or what trans it has (auto). It needs freeze plugs, I just had a trunk key made and upon opening, it is full to the top with NOS chrome pieces. one tie rod end, and a pair of oil seals (front and rear main ???) can any one show me where to start with finding out what I have and where to get the parts I need to get it on the road?? Also It was moved out of a museum and the gas tank was destroyed by a forklift. It will need a new tank for sure.
Any Info will help
Thanks

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of Hudson's. I am not very familar with the 55-57 Hudsons( I own a 51 Pacemaker coupe)
PAUL SCHUSTER is one of the authorities on this car,-- he owns one- I am sure he will will respond to your message, as probably many more will.
We are a large Club and and everyone is willing to help another. I would suggest joining our National Club www.Hudsonclub.org - can be linked through this forum and also joining the Local Chapter in your area.
This will provide you with access to our Award winning Club publication with great articles and parts/cars etc for sale. The local club holds meets during the Year with The Orange Blossom meet held in Florida every year.
Again Welcome!!! and good luck with your car. Post some photos if you can.

Welcome to the forum,
There are a lot of knowledgable Hudson guys in Florida. I would suggest that you snap some pictures of the items in question (engine trans etc). There are members here that can answer your questions quickly. I believe there a few members in the Tampa area that have 55-57 cars, and most likely some parts.
Also, consider joining the local Hudson club ;
