Bench seat

I have been offered a bench seat for my 46 pick-up. I was told that it is 52 inches at its widest, its out of an older ford ranger. I thought I read here somewhere that a bench seat should be 48 inches. I am not near my truck right now to go measure. Does anyone know off hand if this will fit intot he cab?
