Carb Gasket Swap
Does any one have any parts swap information for the Carter WA-1 749S carb?
I must have tranposed a number when I ordered. I got ones that did not have enough width between the bolt holes.
The will go back tomorrow with new ones ordered.
I thougth I might be able to pick something up locally so I can get this car running.

FYI..........Should you be on the road or in your shop and need carb gaskets NOW for a WA-1 749S carb....try FP-35062 from Autozone (ROL Gaskets, www.rolmfg.com). They have the correct bolt pattern and center hole.
Words of caution: They have oval bolt holes - BUT the inside edge meets the stud just right. And they are THINNER than gaskets provided by Mr. Cooper. It will take 6 per side if using all new gaskets.
One work around I found was to use the old ones sandwiched between two new ones. I get the same thickness required (based on measuring the old stack.
I used a scraper to clean both side of the old stacks. I had one from the top and one from the bottom tear as I lifted the carb off to have it rebuilt.
This fix is only temporary until the correct one arrive. But it does work. It got me where I needed to be so I can drive it next week (got to get tags) to the shop for brake lines and fuel lines.0
