Pacemakers were the base model Hudson and there's a good number of 1950 survivors it was one of the highest step-down production years. Just for the Heck of it check if it's really a Pacemaker Deluxe, they're a little more rare and the serial numbers start with 50A whereas regular Pacemakers serial number starts with 500. The difference? Pacemaker Deluxes had more trim and maybe one or two more options like backup lamps. Obviously they're worth whatever someone's willing to pay for em but a good rule of thumb is that coupe's and convertibles are more prized than Broughams (2-door sedans) and sedans. I think the most I've ever seen a fully restored Pacemaker sedan went for is 8-10 K. Everyone wants the top end models and of course the Hornets. If it's a well preserved original example though that hasn't been molested those are getting increasingly uncommon to find.0

aaron, thanks for the info. that does help a bunch. he's asking $7500 but it is all original down to the owners manual and the hudson light bulb / tool tin in the trunk. probably will need a repaint or have the paint buffed out or something. some areas a little dull and a flake here or there. i wonder, though, if i should try to just maintain the original paint for originality sake?0

If it is THAT original and you can rub out the original paint and give it a nice solid coat of wax without worry too much about parts of the paint job that might be cracked to the point that they'd allow water behind then causing rust damage underneath the paint I'd try to save the paint job. You could also elect to only repaint the really bad sections if you can match up the color good enough. Like I said....to find an original that is still just like they were when they left the dealership is rare. Pacemakers were a little unique, the shorter 119" wheelbase and the burlap patterned dashboard...that one would be hard-pressed to redo the way guys redo woodgraining. 1950 Was the first year for the Pacemaker during the step-down era (1948-54)and they sold very well. The final year for Pacemakers was 1952 at which point the model designation was given to the "Wasp" nameplate likely to show a kinship to the Hornets.0

I agree completely with Aaron. If it is that original and nice, keep it that way. If it is a club coupe, I'd grind him on price if possible but I'd buy it. You can't get crap for under 8K today.0 -
That is not a bad price. Beat him up on the price if you can! I am sure this will probably cause turmoil, but I believe that a pacemaker handles better than a Hornet. Any coupe has a good value. Remember one thing- a car is only worth what you are willing to pay for it!0

Just be sure you check the perimeter frame from the rear wheels back, very carefully. No matter how clean and original the car looks, it will take a prodigious amount of money to rebuild that frame if it's gone.0
