What we have is a 1937 Terraplane model 71 2 door coupe with the electric hand, factory heater, original 212 spasher - rebuild with nos bearings, bored .020 over with new pistons, rings, rods, valves, valve seats, polished crank, rebuild carb, fuel pump, water pump, head was dead on - no milling needed, motor mounts, rebuild water jacket in mint condition, new 9" clutch, new throwout bearing, u-joints and all new seals and bearings (except front wheel which are good) new rhode island wiring harnesses, new shocks, new exhaust, new master and wheel cyclinders, new brake lines, drums were excellent, new brake linings, gas tank cleaned, new fuel line, springs were all good not sure why but they were., all iginition parts new - total frame off - every speck of rust was removed. started with very good metal - a min of filler was used. all new rubber from our friends at k-gap, chrome from Pauls out in PA, interior from Rays in Wilmington done in an ostrich pattern but followed the original lines used back in 37 - I added some special embrodering identical to the truck badge and used it on the shelf behind the front seat, and on a second set of floor mats and on the arm protector (didn't want to burn my arm on the way to get ice cream on those hot day) and also in the truck on the shelf. Also added 3-point seat belts - and radials 1/2 wider than stock - gotta stay safe. color is 2004 cadillac pearl white 3 base two pearl three clear - but doesn't show 1/2 as nice as it is in person and the car is dirty, every part of this car has been cleaned, painted or powder coated or chromed. all new glass with a very slight green tint - had to cut the glare with the tint - its safer in my opionion. Runs perfect! head light reflectors -chromed and I have 6 volt halogen bulbs and a dual 6v relay so I will be able to see at night
And I'm going to drive it ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to do a real nice post when its complete - with before during and after shots and acknowledge all those folks from this great club which contributed to returning this car to its former glory (john, robbie and many others). I took the car for a long ride yesterday (no brake lights) and have had this grin on my face ever since - I just couldn't help myself from posting something to share with others with the same passion. My son the tall kid - in the pics, spent two days sand blasting the frame and then appied POR15 for me, now he appreciates the work which was done that you can't see on the surface.

Its hard to take the grin off your face , when you are so proud of something that you have worked so hard on and righly so and whats better is that not everyone has one

We look forward to seeing your finished product- sounds like you didn't cut any corners. Mention of 37 T coupe always reminds me of 1967, when I spent probably the most pleasant summer of my life- building fences on my dad's farm in the morning, and working on putting a 283 small block in my '36 Chev pickup in the afternoon. I had to have motor mounts made up, so made cardboard mock-ups and took them to a local welder/machinist to build. He was a Hudson guy- had a '29 sedan, among others. While there, he showed me 2 '37 Terraplane coupes, both good drivers, and tried to sell one or both for $200 apiece. I liked the art-deco styling, and went home to tell my dad- he railed on about what junk Terraplanes were, etc, so that was the end of that. Learned much later that my dad's opinions of various cars were mostly "anecdotal"- if he heard one bad story about a make, that make was condemned forever. Oh, well, water under the bridge, as they say. . .0
