Ok I give up..can someone explain just why it's necessary to put the HET in front of your E Mail address?



I seriously doubt that the spammers are troling the HET chat rooms looking for candidats to flood with their advertising and if you are concerned that Hackers can get to you thru your E Mail address you have bigger concerns than the HET will defend.





Just seems to me that the HETTombar46@msn.com only serves to confuse the people that are actually trying to get in touch with you..

Trolling...No. However, for $29.95 one can purchase software to do all the work via spiders and auto readers.



That is how all those list are built. The "HET" (or others) helps a little. And every little bit of help is welcomed.

it is the reason that many sites require you to read a graphic to confrim that you are indeed human to join

Tom, what are you doing trying to stir the pot?

I do chuckle a bit about the email stuff from time to time. Yes, there are programs out there that can scan and get emails...so, what? There are many more programs out there that can autogenerate your email. And there are also many other sources of the information.

• Do you run a website? Guess what? I can get your entire contact information.
• Own a house/condo - I can find the address and know what you paid for it, what improvements you've done to it, how much your taxes are and the address of the legal owner- you - whether its that home or not.
• Ever had problems with the law, divorce or judgements against you = I can look all that up too!

And the best of all its FREE and available for anyone with an internet connection.

I'm not saying to not try and protect yourself - but choose your battles, the information is out there and available.
