On Cleaning Up Engine Compartment And Painting Brackets, I Have A 308 With Twin H, Would Like To Remove Support Brackets For Air Cleaners, And Linkage For Carbuteraters,. Can The Head Bolts Be Removed To Get Them Off, And Retighten Later Without Causing A Problems. Of Course Using Tork Wrench To Tighten Up.

You should be able to get away with that OK. Don't forget to drain the coolant below "top of the block" level before removing the head bolts! I suggest that after you remove the brackets, put the bolts back in and tighten to correct torque so there's minimal relaxation of the gasket while you're working on the brackets.
  • Thank You For The Reply, And The Advise. I Probably Would Not Have Drained The Coolant.
