I added a few pictures of Nick's small parts that we are getting ready while temperature is not warm enough for painting entire car. Interior and wood grain panels are in shop and will be done for end of April. Chrome is also done or at plater. You can see pictures at http://groups.msn.com/HudsonEssexTerraplaneBulletinBoard/nicks1948c8cv.msnw?Page=1

  • Dave looks like you have two different rear rockers extensions. One is for the 48-51 and the other is the 52-3 type. Dosen't really matter you only see one side at a time.

looks to me, with the exception of holes/clips, these will be fine. The pittsburg bunch don't mess things up.

Dave/Nick what color is that? I assume it is the correct medium metallic green?
  • I think Hudson must have liked Green, all the way back to my Gangster car.

Extensions are correct! If you look close, you will see holes where we will poprivet retainer on.

Nick's car will be original 1948 colors. Glowing grey metalic (charcoal) over Queenstown grey (silver) with black top. :)
  • Is that a similar combo to Ken's commodore 8?

exactly same color as Ken's with wire wheels
  • nice!!!!!!
  • Dave look closely at the curvature. You have a 52-3 model and the other is an earlier 48-51 model. I know. I had the same mistake. If you need proof ,check out the parts book. 225716- 7 should be the same as 230400 -1 but they aren't . Hudson changed the rear rocker extension ever so slightly when they changed the rear sheet metal from 51 going into 52. The rear rocker rextension also changed. As I said you can only see one side at a time and it is something most folks don't catch, but it's there.

For what it is worth, the rear extensions on my '51 Hornet have the same curvature shown in Dave's picture of the driver's side extension. Neither side matches the other. Walt-La

Thanks to unseasonably warm January, we started color on Nick's car. http://home.earthlink.net/~dsollon/public.htm/ourcars.htm

I tried browsing your links and the pictures are pointing to "file//A:"

There were also some others that were not showing up, I can get the properties of each if it helps debug...

I THINK I have pictures up now. They were showing up on my computer because they are on my drive but were not transfered. I was in a hurry and forgot to transfer them to public.

I do this stuff for a living sometimes ;) and I can't remember how many times I have done this programming "trick" as well :p

Awesome progress! You might get that puppy done in under a year eh?
