Hudson Blueprints

Please forgive me for getting a little artsy yet again, but I thought I'd show you guys some interesting old Hudson blueprints on ebay. Blueprints, schematics, cut-aways and other technical images can make for fairly cool wall art when properly chosen and matted. You've probably seen such items before, but these are Hudson!

Rather than cutting these up, I would think that nice quality photocopies of select parts would be adequate to frame. Often you'll see this sort of artwork in groups of two or four, or more, clustered together. A winter project for those who admire Hudson engineering, and, most importantly, have the time.

It just occured to me (five minutes later) that maybe this is the sort of thing that the Hudson Historical Society might have an interest in. I guess that I have no way of knowing that, though. Perhaps amongst you is a benefactor would wish to make a donation of these? (By benefactor I mean anyone who isn't as strapped for cash as I am)!

OK I, agree , no matter how small a contribution it may end up being.. Documents like this DO need to be preserved. I'll bid as long as no one else on the forum will bid. If I win the auction, I will donate them to the Hudson Historical Society . Perhaps if the word gets out that Hudson Historical documents have somevalue, they might come out of the woodwork?

I was originally interested as I have a small personal library of automotive related junk, and deal in prehistoric Hudsons, but the HET historical society could put these to much better use. Therefore if you are interested and win the bid, I will pay part if I can have a photocopy of the set.

    HA!

Got both pieces for a song! The blue prints and the Logo patent application drawing. The later auction was cut short by the seller when he heard i was going to donate it to the Library. Nuther great HET guy whose name is actually Hudson..

I have the logo drawing and awaiting the blue prints to arrive in the mail. I have written an email to the librarian asking if they are interested in the donation and, if they want them, an address to mail them to. For those interested in this kind of stuff, I will attempt to scan some of this stuff and post it or send it to someone that can post on the forum. .

I hope everyone keeps their eyes open for these kind of historical documents and gets them into the hands of the Historians of the Hudson Community.

Thanks for the offers of help..!

    Hudsonly...

Forgive my ignorance, but is this library / museum a public place people can visit? Or is this at a private residence where arrangements need to be made?

Sarah Young - The Hudson Historical Society is a separate organization that puts Hudsons in various museums on loan. It will have a (hopefully) permanant collection in Middlebury Indiana which you can go and visit. I'm not sure what kind of archives it may or may not have. It is a separate organization from the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club Inc. (HET Club) which has a library archive in Dekalb, IL. at the HET Club librarians house which is on a farm. HET Club members can visit the library by arrangement, it is not very large however the club librarian mostly just recieves requests from members for historical documents and information and he makes copies of any historical material he has on file and mails them to HET members. The club librarian is John O' Halloran. Hope this answers your question ?
