oil filter plumbing
my 55 308 came with an oil filter but all of the plumbing was long gone and i cant find any reference of it in the manuals. just where do i tap into for supply and return? as i understand it the bottom port is supply to the filter itself and the side port is the return but where do i run these lines to on the block? what diameter lines do i need? steel flared or otherwise? thankyou- stuart

On my 54 with a Fram canister unit the inlet is in the side return in bottom. For the inlet there is a pipe plug just above the pressure regulator, use a 90 degree fitting. For the return is just below the pressure regulator. Pressure regulator is large bolt inch plus low on block in front of starter. Lou Cote0

Look at third jpeg in "262 running and ready for installation" on this forum. Shows installed canister and oil lines pretty clearly.0
