This looks like a nice car. 14,000 original miles ? Are those the original Hub Caps ? Is that the correct Steering wheel ?
  • Steering wheel is correct the hubcaps are not.
  • I wonder:

    1. What's under the seat cover?

    2. Why there is paint overspray on the edge of the left/rear door upholstery?

    3. Why is the front/left rubber door bumper painted body color?

    4. The hood and trunk seams are so poor.

Plus, the car has towed. 14k miles? With a 56 year old car and its 5 digit odometer (which isn't tamper-proof), mileage is probably somewhere between 14 and 114k.

You'd think that a car dealer should know about cars. Excellent preservation, ya, right?

Not the correct steering wheel unless this would be an optional wheel. The standard Supersix steering wheel did not have a horn ring. And as Dave 53-7C mentioned, why would someone not remove the blanket over the seat to take a picture?

Looks like a Hornet wheel to me. Are 51-53 Hornet wheels , all the same ?

Also notice the maroon filler panel between front fenders, looks like over spray in the front whell well,- plus the engine. I'll bet it's a repaint. Sure didn't spend anytime detailing the engine or cleaning some of the chrome on the dash. How about those plaques on the dash, hope there stick-ons.

Wonder what the underside looks like, notice no pictures of that either.

  • Tailight gaskets also painted body colour, ---- car looked good at first glance, but nah, not so good on the second one !

No question its a repaint, and a poorly done one at that.

Steering wheel was an option on the Super Six. The hub caps are probably aftermarket - looks like they are similr to what Olds used in the mid 50's

Good observations. I though the chrome on the dash was quite pitted. If those plaques have been on the dash for a while, the paint behind them will probably come off. If what you can see scares you, think about what you can't see.

And on top of it all, it's not a very attractive color. What a hack job!
