OK, there are lots of them around for sale. Need to know what condition you're looking for. Do you want one that drives but needs some work? (5-10K), A nice driver needing no work (10-15K), or a really nice show car. (15K up)
  • :) Im looking for a 1951-1954 Hudson in ok conduction that runs, with a low price.

Uncle Josh, the new forum member made a more revealing introduction on another thread.

What we have here is the next generation of Hudson lovers. She is 17 years old and completely inspired by "Doc" Hudson.

I'd say she isn't all that familiar with the rating system, or the HET in general, not to mention what makes a Hudson "good" or "bad" in terms of its quality. We know all that glitters is not gold (shiny paint can blind you to undercarriage issues).

A diamond in the rough with alot of enthusiasm.

If someone hasn't already mentioned it, I'd join the HET club and watch the WTN mag for classified ads. Also, BEFORE YOU BUY A CAR, see if someone around here or the club can go with you to see the car. Not only will they be able to keep you from a bad deal, you can also learn what to look for and a bit about the cars.

    Welcome!

  • Im not realy into meeting people I meet on the internet I you know what I mean.......
  • I didn't see your other post and your age before replying to this thread (and didn't see Mark's reply either). I only meant that there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here that know what a good Hudson deal is and what to look for on these cars for the bad spots, nothing more. Wish I had known of this before I bought mine and someone could have looked at it for me.

    OK grandkid, here ya go.

Email Sam Jackson, the editor of our magazine which has Hudsons for sale in the back and ask for a courtesy copy. HETfortyqtpi@earthlink.net (The HET is there to foil the spammers so eliminate it.) You'll be impressed with the magazine, and may want to join the club. We've got some 3700 members. All nice people, and this is a family club so you're safe with us.

I see you're in SC. I have good friends, Kurt and Shirley in NC. email them at HETckbord@surry.net Again, don't use the HET.

Tell them Uncle Josh sent ya and tell them what you're looking for. They may know of one not far from you.

Good policy not to meet people on the internet, but most of us would go and look at a car for you and report back and we wouldn't have to meet you.

Twin H. Finding a '51-'54 Hudson should be no problem but price depends on what model and body style you're after. I got in the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club when I was 19. You don't have to meet anyone from online....but join the HET club and you can go to a local meet (mostly old guys will be there) and you'll find many friendly and knowledgable people. Take your folks with. I went to the Chapter Christmas party and the rest just kinda happened from there. My first Hudson (affordable base model) was a '51 Pacemaker. I learned everything about from there and read the 3 main books available on the topic..
  • ok Ill see about it this summer :) If I can get my truck working (or ill have to get a new one :P)
  • and also get a 5 pound or so sandblasting tank set up with an aircompressor and start blasting awaying you will be surprised on what you find what is rust out or not. I did it to my doors on the lower portion and had rust running up about 2 inches from the bottom. Bottom of the doors are gone so iam cutting out whats bad and replaceing with 18 guage steel. Mine came from Minnesota so theres alot of moisture in the air i was last tagged in 59 so it didnt see much street time but aim thinking it was used on a ranch in North dakota it has a towing hitch welded through the bumper and come with misc ranch tools even found a hack saw in the right rear fender area stuck, free gift with any hudson purchase:)
