MP3 Line in for Hudson Radio

For those interested here is the deal for putting a line in to a Hudson Pos. Ground radio:

Dan, If the radio is working your cost would be $95.00. plus shipping. With a positive ground radio I need to use isolation transformers to keep the ground and audio signal from making contact. Also you can not mount the jack on in metal parts in the car. I give about 3 ft of wire with the jack.

Thanks

I don't know about a DYI kit, you could email him: mp3amradio@yahoo.com
  • Thanks I will. I have a quite a collection of tube radios so I do my own work on them and have all the radio tools. Be nice if I could get the kit. Don't want to have to mail my radio from Canada.

If you cann't get a parts kit, I believe we can work something up. I think the tranformer is used to isolate the low voltage MP3 player (about 3 volts, two AAA batteries?) from the high voltage of the vacuum tube radio (around 250 VDC) and not because of a polarity mis-match.
