These are a special bearing, but there is a modern equivelant, which is slightly thinner which can be used with a suitable spacer. Like all Hudson gearbox bearings they are metric, so are still freely available.

Hello Geof. Are all 34 to 40 Hudson gearboxes borg warner? Do you know the modern metric brg number? Thanks, Barry Sweetman0

No they are not Borg-Warner, they are Hudson-built specials. they altered the design 5 time belieive it or not! final;ly got it right in '38, and then went to the Borg Warner synchro mesh box in '41. I'm sorry I can't remember the number, but I think it is 3205C. The original bearing is 42108, and measures 52 / 25 /16.8, and has a circlip groove. The new bearing is the same except the circlip is slightly narrower and the width of the bearing is only 15 mm. Best wishes.

Geoff.
For what it's worth, this bearing company lists a 42108 bearing. On the web page shown below enter 42108 into the Part Number box, select All Brands for Brand and then click Find It.
