Contact Coil Spring Specialties, in KS. http://www.coilsprings.com/. Good folks, decent prices. They have all the spec's and they know what they're doing.0

85 to 100 a pair from http://www.espo.com/
Or you can use 1980's GM full size car springs. If front sits too high, cut off one half of end coil.0 -
Thanks For the info on the springs. You Guys are the Greatest!!!

You might also try Eaton Spring http://www.eatonsprings.com/ . I know at least one fellow with a Step-Down who seemed to be happy with their coil springs0

Make that two Jon. They made them origionally so I went to the source. No problems to report after ten years.0 -
This is interesting news as I would eventually like to replace the springs in my Special. I want to increase the rate a little and lower it one inch all around. I have a Moog spring catalog and you can mix and match almost anything with it. Knowing an early 80's full size GM ( B-body ) will work gives a great starting point. Now all I need to do is work on a larger sway bar and I will really have a flat cornering stepdown. :cool:0

Before you do a larger sway bar, you might want to try installing urethane bushing on the bar and link pins. Really helps cornering on the cars I've done this to.0 -
Dave,
I have done that along with gas shocks and relocating the battery to the back. When I have time I want to see if I can find some urethane that I can make work in the rear bar. I am pretty sure the springs are original so I think a fresh set with a little stiffer rate will take the roll and wallow out of it. Suprisingly even with the roll it comes around corners well with very little tire squeal and they are only 215/70/15's.0
