  • Jon didn't make the list because he is a moderator, real live, moderator, what fun would that be?

Probably, the best choice, other than me and Dave 537C, of course... (haha) would be Rick with the 46 pickup.

But, it seems we function well the way we are. It was just a fun thread.

Whoa! :oHold on there! 1500+ posts in and of itself does not a moderator make...

(Speaking only of and for me. And, you may quote me...:D )

All fun & ribbing aside, I think that Jon does a great job of monitoring this forum, as does Lew - who I understand also monitors in the background...

I'm not even looking at the number of posts as a prerequisite for being a moderator. If the board had no moderators, and was looking for one, you, in my mind would be a good choice. Why? because you exhibit a high level of maturity, than most of the rest of us... (well a few of us!) you don't get caught up in the little battles on the board (like a few more of us) you are very helpful with newer members, and helping others get pictures up. Stuff like that, as well as the ability to subjectively look at a post, are just things that I think would make you a good moderator.

There's nothing wrong with being thought of in that light, hey, feel flattered. This board with a rare pop up of a spammer, here or there, and a few posts here or there that get out of line and need deleted, ( ) It functions well. Lew and Jon do in fact do a great job. Some of the boards I post on, have multitudes of problems, not always caused by me, imagine that.

Oh well, take the compliment as you will!

Well, as the silent moderator, I think it would be nice add Jon Battle to the list. He has done a great job over the years. Wouldn’t it be nice to give him a vote of confidence?

Cool thing is that as moderator, I could add his name to the list but in the interest of 'not sticking my nose in any more than I have too', I won't. (altho, I do find this a bit insulting to Jon)

Wow, Lew, as a moderator, and a silent one, I figured you would have read my original post a bit better. This whole post was supposed to be for fun. Nothing to be insulting to any of the existing moderators.

Why would I want to replace the moderators, just figured it would be fun to see which one our wacky members would get the most votes...

Maybe you could vote for me instead? I want to beat Dave 53 7C, and I could use the vote!
  • I'm honored........

I'm OK with that. You can be the big Kahuna and I'll be the vice moderator. Humm, kinda like the sound of that. Then, I can go hunting, shoot people, and get away with it. :D

If you guys ain't got enough t'do, I've got some 212 parts that need cleaning up t'get 'Brownie' back together, and there's a 37 Terraplane doddlebug in the driveway that needs an engine job.

It runs rather like a thrashing machine. You fix it, I'll let ya drive it. T 3sp turning a Ford 4 sp gives ya 13 speeds ahead and 7 in reverse.

    what's for dinner? I'm there.

I heard hudsonmom is making spaghetti....
  • This has been informative for me. I always thought that this and the other forums were basically run from the Site Administrator's chair and that person made the decisions as to what stays and goes. I was not aware that each forum had its own moderator.

    Shows ya what I know....

I think whoever moderates this forum has done a fantastic job, especially with putting up with goofs like me who forget what's proper and shoot off a rant now and again:o ... I apologize for all the feathers I may have ruffled from time to time; I sometimes let my ideological hair down to those with whom I feel comfortable talking. I come here to post because: a) frankly, the K-F Forum on this site is Snoresville, and I am thankful this forum is the most active, because Hudsons are my other favorite; and, b) I enjoy hanging out with a cool group of people, whether on the Web or in person. Regardless of whatever differences we may have, you speak my language and I feel that I can "open up" here. You have made this K-F nut feel very welcome, and helped me along the road from being a Hudson "wannabe" to a Hudson "gonnabe".

    Thanks, folks, and best regards.

    Tom,

I've taken some excerps from your post. I must say you hit it on the head. This site, Hudsons and the crowd that owns them are the best. The Hudson owners and their cars make the rest of the car world look like they're standing still. Glad to hear that you feel welcome. I hope to see you in a Hudson soon.

Aye, whatsamaddayou? You no lika da pasta? Or is hudsonmom making Chef Boy Ar Dee?
  • you'll have to ask hudsondad how hudsonmom's spaghetti is.

Probably the only meal that I would rather go home to my house, versus mooch a meal at their house.

As evident in my size, hudsonmom was an excellent cook, but spaghetti, she no mastered.
  • OK, I'll PM hudsondad. Since your wife is part Italian, maybe she can give hudsonmon some tips on making good pasta. But as you say, hudsonmom must have been a good enough cook to grow you into the bruiser you've turned out to be.
