212ci Water Jacket

NOS ones pop up from time to time, but if the holes are in the inner plate only (that is, the plate with the four large distribution holes in it), don't throw the old one away. In a pinch, you could make up a new flat plate and weld it in, I think0

I bought a nice one not too long ago from Ken Amman, 810-621-3665 HETkamman@power-net.net (drop the HET) Other contacts you can get from the WTN are Bill Albright, Dave Kostansek and Dave Amsk. Just a few of the folks who might have one. They are out there. :cool:0

Try Perry Spring. I just saw one at his house. Not sure of year though. 909 460 0736

I saw a tech article someplace where a guy made a new flat plate and put it in with a double gasket. Cheap fix. I repaired some holes in my truck with JBWeld. No leaks a year later.0

I have two water jackets and they both have quite a few holes in the outside plate, the inside plate is really bad. I could fix these, but would rather fine a serviceable one. I tried Dave and Ken, but no luck. Will try some of your other leads. There is a 31-33 water jacket on e-bay right now, if anyone needs an extra.
Thanks0 -
I have an NOS one & think any future engines I would do will be 8s so am willing to sell it.
E-mail me an offer.
As my offer is found objectionable I hereby withdraw it.:eek:0 -

 That's about as classless a signature line as I have ever seen0 -
Hi,I had the inner plates made. You can usually take the plate out very easily,be careful not to damage the outside shell.I then take to the radiator shop and have them resolder it back in.This works real well. You also need to go to the hardware and buy new bronze 5/16th's washers that go under all the water jackets bolts.I also try to save all the bolts from the water jacket because they have a slight bevel at the head, which makes the bronze washers do the final seal job on the water jacket. These are usually hard to get sealed correct after removal. This is hopefully some info to assist you.0

Oldhudsons,
I sent you a private message, thanks for the help.
Clutch Guy, thanks for the info, I did not know that the bolts were special and you could buy new washers, I saved the old ones.0 -

Thanks.
I have the tech bulletin (of course I do - I have everything, well, almost everything) that was in the WTN back in the early 80's that tells how to make the water distribution baffle plate (to give it it's proper name.
Can email a copy to anybody no problem.
