Another potential project...

Crap! Found out about a '54 Hudson 4-door today that is for sale. Like I need another project! It is completly disassembled. The engine and transmission are completely built and ready, and has period Clifford and Offy parts in it, plus a header. The body needs very little other than a tiny bit of body work on one door to be ready for reassembly and paint. The subframes are in excellent condition! Two NOS windshields go with the car! This car has such potential! No pics, yet...

I am going to look at the car this week sometime and see what all is there. Basically, the car is complete and ready to assemble, and will need interior work, but it is complete, too. If I decide against getting the car for whatever reason, I'll pass along the contact info for others to consider.

I always seem to find the best ones when I'm not really looking. Sounds like a good one.
  • Going to look at this one this Saturday, finally! It is apart but complete. There are repro and NOS parts included with this project, plus lots of other good stuff. Once I get the pics, you guys can see what's there!
  • OK, I'm buying the car...! It has the nicest rust-free body I've encountered in a Stepdown! It has a .030-over '55 308 that has a Clifford 4-bbl aluminum intake and Clifford headers, a Hudson aluminum head and other goodies. It's even mounted on a run-up stand with radiator and everything hooked up!

There are a ton of parts that are included. Two NOS windshields, eight doors, two decklids, good glass all around, much trim, all in top shape.

I'm seeing this car with a front disc conversion, a Lincoln Verseilles disc rear axle, and stiffer springs that would make it more than comfortable and safe to drive in 80 mph highway traffic!

Do I need another car? No. I wasn't looking for one, and was gathering info for you guys in case you were interested, but this one is just the right project where all of the hard and dirty work is already done. The expensive stuff is left, of course, such as paint, rechroming and interior, but the basis for a sweet '54 are all there.

Oh, yeah, guess what I left at home today? The digital camera, of course!
  • glad to see you're stepping up to stepdown.
  • I've had five Stepdowns (and even a Hash); this is the first '54. I've "stepped up" before, thanks.
  • congrats SPatrilck, SDHAVE A BALL WILTH THIS ONE, LET ME KNOW IF i CAN HELP bill albright
  • Will do, Bill, thanks!
  • Well, let's see what will happen.
