Hudson Meet In Waxahachie Texas
Past HET president John Clement has once again done an outstanding job working with the city of Waxahachie Texas to put on the annual Sweet Hearts and Orphans car meet held annually in this central Texas city. I had the opportunity to attend today and had a great time. Not only do Hudsons attend but any orphan automake is welcome. Those who register are provided reserved parking around the court house square where viewers can casually stroll the brick pavement and see all manner of orphan autos... yes Hudson is in that INDEPENDANT or orphan category. This year the meet attracted two past HET Club presidents, John of course and Clinton Webb who drove his 53 Hornet in from North Texas. John brought his 51 Super 6 Hollywood and Charlie Harris stopped by too. Charlie is a past Big Country Director of the Big Country Region... he and his wife were driving thier 50 Pmaker convert and were enroute home from the Orange Blossom Meet in Florida. Charlie said the mileage was a bit over 2900 when they parked in the square. Lewis Bird a current Director of the BCR was present also. Several folks from the Houston area made the trip including a fellow who has recently completed a rust free NM origin 49 C6 sedan. It is powered by a 318 V8 automatic and has a rack and pinion steering system. Three 47 Hudson Pickups showed up all with alternate power V8s installed. One fellow drove 80 miles to the meet. Then there was the man and wife who left New Mexico in thier 47 S6 sedan and drove over for the meet... do not know the distance but Texas is very wide... suspect thier trip was over 500 miles one way.
Got to put faces to two folks who regularlly post here and found some new Hudson folks who attended just to find folks to help with thier new found projects.
Thanks again to John Clement and those who labored to put on this super meet.

Hi, Beautiful Pictures!!! Makes me wish I had my '52 Hornet sedan again. Texas Tan and Frogs Belly Yellow colors. Paid $35.00 dollars for it, and drove it over 6 years, putting about 60 miles a day on it, 6 days a week. Hoping to find another Hudson soon. Thanks for the memories! Steve0

Sehr Periode!0 -
